Small Bits of Beauty for You

Fran Carey

Humans thrive on beauty.  We don't require it for life, but it does make our lives much happier and can increase our serotonin to help us feel more peaceful and connected to the world around us.  And there are so many ways to find it.

Nature creates bits of indoor/outdoor beauty in the form of stones.  Amethyst clusters, colorful collections of tumbled or raw stones, large specimens or even crystal balls can bring brightness and color into our spaces, as well as the energy in the stones themselves.

Another way to add small bits of charm to your space is tarot or oracle cards.  They can be used for more than reading.  Some people even frame them, individually or in collages, just for the illustrations.  We have a mirror in our employee bathroom that is framed in discontinued tarot cards.

Statuary is another way to add art to your space.  Many of our pieces are actually museum replicas.  But modern fairies, unicorns, and dragons are also wonderful accents.  Dream catchers are functional art, snaring bad dreams in their webbing while letting good ones pass through.  All of our dreamcatchers are Native American made by Colorado artists.

Windchimes look and sound good and can be used indoors or out.  Place them where the air conditioner, heater, or fan blows on them to bring their soothing tones into the living, dining, or bedroom.

Coloring books let you decide on the color scheme, and the pages are only printed on one side, most being perforated for easy removal.  You can even frame your best artworks!  I have been known to buy multiple copies of my favorites, so I can have options for my palette.

Each region has a god or goddess of beauty.  Let your home honor them, as well as yourself, by surrounding yourself with inspiring, uplifting artwork, whether a small portable piece like an oracle card, or a commitment, like a big statue.  Take advantage of the plentitude of options available, and add beauty to your life.
