Focus on: Aventurine

Aventurine is a form of cryptocrystalline quartz with mica inclusions that make it sparkle.  Most commonly seen in green, it also occurs in pink and orange.  It is differentiated from chalcedony by color and the inclusion of mica, although it also forms like the rest of the quartz family as mineral rich waters evaporate as part of the cooling process of magma.

Its metaphysical properties include healing, especially of skin issues like poison ivy and sunburn, good luck for gambling (so nice if you have to drive on I25), calming troubled emotions, and prosperity.

Scott Cunningham, in Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Crystal, Gem and Metal Magic, lists it as Projective energy, planet Mercury, and element of Air.  He also suggests carrying it to increase perception, stimulate creativity, and enhance intelligence.

In the Book of Stones, Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian connect it to the heart chakra, and list vitality, growth, and confidence as its keywords.  Simmons says it is a stone of optimism and zest for life,  With so many people stressing over the current state of affairs on the planet, this is a needful attribute.  Ahsian additionally says it assists one in connecting to the energies of the earth and to earth devas.

Its gentle, spring-like energy pairs well with Calendula Oil, Spring Dawn Incense, and Health Bathsalt.  Carry it, blue lace agate, carnelian, and hematite in a spring and summer healing pouch, as the combination covers skin, eye, and nasal allergy healing, or put it in your bedroom or living room to let its healing and calming energy do background work for you and others in your home.
